A step-by-step guide to power, passwords, fingerprints, the security alarm and optional accessories.
Before you begin
Use the correct DC 12 V adapter as the main power supply. The safe's batteries provide auxiliary power. Keep the door open when changing a password, and test the new password before closing the door.
1. First use & safety
First-use checklist
- Identify your model and controls using the parts guide.
- Connect the correct adapter and check the startup self-test.
- If the factory password is still in use, open the safe with 123456, following the complete opening sequence.
- Set a personal password and test it with the door open before storing items.
- If you use fingerprints or the security alarm, complete their setup procedures below.
Safe handling and installation
- Keep fingers and objects clear of the door and keep children away. Do not slam the door.
- Take care around the edges of the safe. Do not apply force to glass parts, which could break and cause injury.
- The safe is heavy. Use professional assistance for moving or installation when needed, and secure the safe firmly to the floor during installation. Improper handling can damage floors or furniture.
- Do not place fragile glass or ceramic objects on top of the safe.
Care and storage
- Keep moisture and foreign metal objects out of the touch panel.
- Do not scratch the panel with sharp objects or use excessive force.
- Avoid gasoline, benzene, solvents, acetone, thinner and other chemicals.

3. Adapter & safe batteries
Connect the adapter
- Locate the adapter socket on the back of the safe.
- Connect the correct DC 12 V adapter to that socket.
- Plug the adapter's power cord into the outlet.
- Confirm that the screen runs a self-test, plays startup sounds and displays good.
Use the adapter specified for your safe. The original manual warns that an incorrect adapter may cause system problems that are not covered by the manufacturer's warranty. Batteries are an auxiliary supply; use the adapter for normal operation.
Insert or replace the safe's auxiliary batteries
- Gently push the battery compartment so it pops out slightly, then pull it out.
- Insert four 1.5 V AA alkaline batteries, checking the marked battery direction.
- Confirm the self-test, startup sounds and good display.
- Slide the cover back until it clicks into place.
Replace batteries immediately when
- Lo-bAt appears with the low-battery icon and the voice prompt to replace batteries.
- Touch-panel numbers or the LCD become faint or repeatedly turn on and off.
- The screen does not turn on after START is pressed, or the LCD malfunctions.
- The system turns off immediately after password entry.
- The door fails to open when OPEn appears after password entry.
The alarm has separate batteries. If the low-battery message is accompanied by the alarm icon or a voice message about the alarm battery, follow Security alarm & its batteries.

Hide your password on the screen: press START twice for security mode, then enter the password and press START to confirm.
Close and lock
- Ensure that stored items are clear of the door, then close it fully without slamming it.
- The safe locks automatically and displays CLOSE.
- Check the closed-lock icon on the LCD to confirm locking.
Incorrect password or alarm
Err-03 indicates an incorrect password. Five consecutive incorrect passwords trigger an alarm for 3 minutes. Press START and enter the correct password to stop it; complete password entry with START as in the opening procedure. For the incorrect-password alarm, the manual also permits waiting 3 minutes for it to stop automatically.

7. Security alarm & its batteries
The security alarm is inside the safe and has its own set of four 1.5 V AA batteries. These are separate from the safe's auxiliary batteries.
Fit or replace the alarm batteries
- Open the safe door and lift the alarm unit out of its holder. Do not disconnect or pull on its cable.
- Remove the battery cover on the back of the alarm.
- Insert four 1.5 V AA batteries according to the + / − markings.
- Refit the cover and put the alarm unit back in its holder.
Replace these batteries when Lo-bAt appears with the alarm icon and a voice prompt to replace the alarm battery, or when the alarm's red LED stays on or flickers.
Turn on and arm the alarm
- Connect the safe to its adapter. The manual specifies adapter power for proper alarm operation.
- Press the alarm's red power button. The green and red LEDs turn on briefly, then off.
- Check the green LED. A flickering green LED indicates that adapter power is not connected, which shortens alarm battery life.
- Close the door. The alarm becomes active after 10 seconds.
Events listed in the alarm guide
- The safe tilts more than 15° from its installed position.
- A shock is applied to the safe door.
- Five consecutive incorrect passwords are entered.
- The door or locking device is forcibly opened.
- The safe is moved more than 1 metre at a constant speed.
The manual also lists an alert when the safe remains open for more than 5 minutes. For normal arming, follow the door-closing sequence above.
Stop a sounding alarm
Press START and enter the correct password, completing entry with START as in the opening procedure. The 3-minute automatic stop described under incorrect passwords applies to that alarm condition.
After moving the safe: open and close the door again as directed in the manual to avoid alarm malfunction.
