If Err-03 or CH-03 appears, the passcode is incorrect. Five incorrect entries trigger a 3-minute alarm; enter the correct passcode or wait for that alarm to stop.

If the safe does not respond because its batteries are depleted, see emergency USB-C power. If you have forgotten the passcode, the manual directs you to use the mechanical override key.

After use, close the door carefully and check that it is secured before leaving the safe.

Reference: PDF pages 2–4 and 6 (printed pages 02–05 and 10).

4. User 1 / User 2 passcodes

The safe supports two user passcodes, each 4–20 digits long. Choose the user slot before entering the new passcode.

6. Batteries & emergency power

Safe batteries: four AA alkaline

Use four 1.5 V AA alkaline batteries in the safe's battery case, located inside the door. Check the marked battery direction. Correct insertion is confirmed by good and a beep.

Check operation before closing the door after battery replacement.

When to replace them

Read “good” in context: after fitting batteries it confirms correct insertion; with “beep beep” after passcode entry, it is listed as a reason to replace the batteries.

USB-C emergency power

If the internal batteries are depleted, the manual identifies a USB-C emergency power port that can be used to supply power for opening the door.

  1. Locate the USB-C port shown in the illustration and use the power-supply accessory specified for the safe.
  2. With emergency power connected, follow the normal opening sequence: START, current passcode, START, then pull the door open.
  3. Replace the internal batteries and confirm normal operation before closing the door.

The supplied manual labels this “Micro USB ‘C’ type.” It does not state an input voltage or current rating; confirm the correct accessory with the purchase store if needed.

Separate alarm batteries: the alarm uses three 1.5 V AAA batteries. These are separate from the safe's four AA batteries.

  1. Check that the alarm's three AAA batteries are installed correctly.
  2. Turn the ON/OFF switch ON.
  3. The alarm is ready to operate 10 seconds after switching on.

The manual specifies a 120 dB alarm triggered by external impact or tilting of the safe. Its light sensor disables the alarm when the door is open.

The incorrect-passcode alarm is covered separately in troubleshooting: after five incorrect entries, enter the correct passcode or wait 3 minutes for that alarm to stop.

Reference: PDF page 3 (printed page 04) and PDF page 6 (printed page 10).

9. Emergency key: full procedure

Use the mechanical override key to open the door temporarily if the safe cannot be operated electronically, or if you have forgotten the passcode.

Keep emergency keys outside the safe. Store them in another secure place. The manual states that lost keys cannot be additionally purchased and that the customer is responsible for loss or theft.

A. Remove the front panel and open the door

  1. Attach the suction cup to the top-left area of the decorative front panel (called the “front pattern” in the manual).
  2. Pull the suction cup to remove the decorative panel and expose the keyhole.
  3. Insert the emergency key fully with its groove facing upward.
  4. Slowly turn the key 120° clockwise to unlock, then open the door. Do not force or over-rotate the key.

  1. With the door open, remove all the safe's batteries and leave them out for more than 10 seconds.
  2. Turn the key 120° counter-clockwise to return it, then remove the key.

Do not skip battery removal. The manual warns that error-05 may appear if the batteries are not removed, and that fitting the front panel while batteries are installed may cause a touch-panel error.

C. Refit the front panel while batteries remain removed

  1. Align the panel with the right-hand edge of the door cover.
  2. Insert the hook on the panel's right-hand edge into the groove in the door cover.
  3. Slowly fit the rest of the panel into place.

D. Reboot and register settings

  1. Reinsert the batteries to reboot the safe.
  2. Follow the manual's recovery sequence: register a new passcode and register the required fingerprints, up to 10.
  3. Check operation with the door open before closing it.

If a touch-panel error occurs after refitting, remove all the safe's batteries, wait 10 seconds, then reinsert them, as directed in the manual.

10. Anchoring the safe

12. Frequently asked questions

Can two people have different passcodes?

Yes. Select User 1 or User 2 after pressing the inside S button. Each passcode can contain 4–20 digits. Follow the two-user setup instructions.

How many times should I scan a fingerprint?

Scan it twice during registration. The safe can store up to 10 fingerprints.

How do I turn the hidden-passcode display off?

Press START twice again. A single press is not the disable sequence shown in this manual.

Are the safe and alarm batteries the same?

No. The safe uses four 1.5 V AA alkaline batteries. The separate alarm uses three 1.5 V AAA batteries.

Can USB-C emergency power open the safe if I forgot the passcode?

The USB-C port supplies emergency power when internal batteries are depleted; follow the normal passcode opening procedure. For a forgotten passcode, the manual directs you to the mechanical override key.

Where should I keep the emergency keys?

In a separate secure place outside the safe. The manual states that additional keys cannot be purchased if they are lost.

What do the B and W buttons do?

The MC-15C2 manual marks both buttons as not in use. Use the S memory button for the settings in this guide.
