Before changing passwords or batteries

Keep the door open and check that the safe operates correctly before closing it. The DC 12 V adapter is the main power supply; the batteries provide auxiliary power.

First-use checklist

  1. Identify your controls and connect the correct DC 12 V adapter.
  2. Use your current password to open the safe. The manual lists 123456 as the factory password for User 1.
  3. Set a personal password. If your safe has the second-user option enabled, set its personal password as well.
  4. Test new passwords with the door open before storing items and closing the safe.

Handling and placement

Care and storage

Keep a record of your password in a separate secure location, as advised in the manual.

The manual describes this as a fire resistant safe. It also states that cutting or welding tools can be used to break into a safe and that the manufacturer is not liable for stolen items.

3. Connecting the DC adapter

Use the DC 12 V adapter specified for your safe as its main power supply. Batteries are an auxiliary source.

  1. Locate the adapter input on the back of the safe.
  2. Connect the DC 12 V adapter jack to that input.
  3. Connect the adapter's power cord to the outlet.
  4. Check the automatic inspection: a notification sound is heard and the LCD indicators light on and off. The manual identifies this as normal startup.

Use the correct adapter. The manual warns that an unauthenticated adapter may cause system problems not covered by the warranty. Confirm a replacement adapter with your local retailer if needed.

4. Batteries & emergency pack

When the door can be opened

  1. Open the door and remove the battery cover on its back.
  2. Insert six 1.5 V AA alkaline batteries in the correct direction.
  3. Check the startup indication: SAFE → _0… → good, with a beep.
  4. Confirm that the safe works correctly before closing the door.

When low batteries prevent opening

  1. Take the emergency battery pack from the back of the safe.
  2. Insert batteries into that pack in the correct direction, following its markings and the specified AA battery type.
  3. Connect the emergency pack's plug to the emergency power socket on the side of the door.
  4. Follow the normal password opening procedure.
  5. Once access is restored, replace the internal batteries and test operation with the door open.

The emergency pack is for urgent use. For normal use, the manual recommends the adapter. Emergency power supplies the lock with power; you still need the current password or registered fingerprint on an equipped model.

Replace batteries immediately when

Read “good” in context: it is normal during the battery startup sequence, but with “beep beep” after password entry it is listed as a battery-replacement warning.

Reference: PDF page 4 (printed page 6).

5. Opening & automatic locking

Open with a password

  1. Press START. The display shows ------.
  2. Enter your 4–20 digit password.
  3. When OPEn appears with a beep, pull the door open within 3–4 seconds.

Factory passwords listed in the manual

User 1: 123456.
User 2, optional: 567890.

These apply only if the corresponding factory settings are still in use. Use your current personal password after it has been changed.

Press START to cancel a password entry in progress. For hidden password display, press START twice for security mode before entering the password.

Close and lock

Close the door fully, keeping fingers and stored items clear. The door locks automatically when closed. Check that it is secured before leaving the safe.

If entry fails

Err-03 indicates an incorrect password. Five consecutive incorrect passwords trigger a 3-minute alarm. Press START and enter the correct password to stop it, or wait for that incorrect-password alarm to stop automatically.

Reference: PDF page 5 (printed page 7) and PDF page 2 (printed page 11).

6. Changing or adding passwords

The safe supports one or two passwords, each 4–20 digits long.

Keep the door open during setup and testing. Do not close it until you have confirmed that the new password works.

  5. Enter the same new password again. USEr_1 confirms User 1 setup.
  6. Test the new password with the door open before closing the safe.

Add or set the second password

Repeat the procedure, choosing 2 instead of 1 at the user-selection step, followed by START. Enter and repeat the new second password when prompted, then test it with the door open.

If setup times out: repeat the procedure promptly. The troubleshooting guide specifies entering the password in under 5 seconds. Contact your local retailer if a keypad or memory-button fault prevents setup.

9. Security alarm Optional

Use the separate alarm's ON/OFF switch to control it. The alarm uses a 9 V battery, separate from the safe's six AA batteries.

Protect your hearing. The manual warns that the alarm is 120 dB and can damage hearing. Avoid close exposure to the sounding unit.

The incorrect-password alarm is described separately in the opening instructions: after five consecutive wrong passwords, press START and enter the correct password, or wait 3 minutes for that alarm to stop.

10. Anchoring the safe

Only for safes with pre-drilled anchor holes. Insert the anchor into the floor before bolting down the safe. Anchor sizes vary by model; confirm your hardware and use professional installation assistance when needed.

Metric anchor size listedHole diameter listed
M6 × 50 mm10 mm
M10 × 101 mm14 mm
M10 × 152 mm14 mm
  1. Check the anchor size. The manual specifies a hole depth of 50 mm (2 inches). Confirm the drilling requirements for the actual anchor and floor.
  2. Insert the anchor bolt and anchor pipe.
  3. Fit the flat washer and nut. Tighten with the 14 mm wrench specified in the manual so the anchor expands and secures into the floor.
  4. Remove the nut and washer.
  5. Position the safe so the anchor passes through the centre hole in its base.
  6. Fit the washer, lock washer and nut, then tighten.

The bolt may need to be cut. Fit the cover over the hole for fire resistance, as directed in the manual.
